Robin and I were lucky enough to be able to attend this highly informative seminar organised by our friend Fiona Shakeela Burns of Back2Health events. The very impressive first speaker was Dr Xandria Williams, a highly experienced biochemist and scientist, who has been investigating the causes of cancer as well as the possibility of finding ways of detecting cancer cells very early on, possibly years before they have multiplied sufficiently to form a tumour.
What struck us forcibly is that although these methods are known, and are fully backed up by scientific research, they are not part of the ordinary practise of most oncologists, who continue to rely on chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery as the only way to deal with cancer, as seems set in stone by the Cancer Act, a long outdated piece of legislation in our view.
There seems to be a yawning gap opening up between science and practise… And at a time when the cancer statistics in the Western world are racing away from us – 50% of men now have a risk of contracting the disease, and 40% of women (and of those born recently, 80% will be at risk of breast cancer),– the lack of attention to the possibilities of prevention are almost wilfully ignored. Could it be because these are mainly lifestyle choices, involving healthy diets, and detoxing from the chemicals, hormones, pollution, and stress overloads, which have no profit for the pharmaceutical companies? And because we have become too attached to the idea of popping pills rather than looking after our health?
Recent discoveries (see a review here) have established that cancer cells have a virtually identical profile to the cells of the placenta. These are designed to promote rapid growth, and also to protect an embryo from the immune system of the mother which otherwise would attack this new foreign body within. And the same measure that is used from pregnancy tests, looking at enhanced levels of a chemical called HCG, is among chemical changes that can be tested for in people who are not pregnant, along with a number of other chemical indicators, at very early stages of the activation of a cancer cell. At this stage it can easily be addressed, early on the process well before a cancer diagnosis, by herbal and dietary methods that include boosting the immune system of the body, enhancing cells’ ability to encourage faulty cells to die off, and restricting cells multiplication abilities. This is a process of bringing the body to homeostasis, or balance – it never has to reach the point of needing a cancer treatment.
Dr Williams is offering a very carefully worked out training for health practitioners and therapists at the CanSurvive Training Centre, as well as private sessions for anyone willing to take responsibility for their health.
Following this fascinating presentation, we were treated to a demonstration by Fiona Shakeela Burns, the organiser of the CancerUCan support network, and Back2Health events. Fiona, a survivor herself of an advanced cancer over 9 years ago, is an experienced herbalist, and is an advocate of the use of enemas to detox the liver, and suppositories and pessaries to help the beneficial effects of herbal medicines reach the blood stream very quickly and without having to face the onslaught of stomach acids which oral remedies experience.
Fiona is one of many practitioners who uphold the particular effectiveness of coffee enemas which work by stimulating the production of glutathione in the liver by up to 70%, assisting its ability to clean the blood. All the blood in our bodies passes through the liver every 3-4 minutes, so supporting this essential and hardworking organ, especially after we have indulged in a lot of fatty foods, alcohol, or are dealing with the aftermath of toxicity from pharmaceutical drugs. Coffee enemas are an essential part of the Gerson therapy for cancer sufferers, according to which they are only to be used once a day if chemotherapy is being given, to avoid reducing its effectiveness, but after which several a day are advocated. Fiona herself takes a regular one when she feels her system is a little sluggish and to maintain her healthy homeostasis, keeping cancer at bay. Enemas also, in her experience, relieve pain.
Robin and I are now kitting ourselves up to be able to offer these, or at least information on these, on our detox retreats, along with advice on how to administer herbal remedies through suppositories and packs. We will be adding what you need to Our Recommended Products shortly, if you feel this would help you too..
And if you live in the Bristol area, and need a skilled herbalist who is experienced in supporting people on a cancer journey, we would happily recommend Fiona. Indeed, we are planning a special detox retreat working with her in Somerset in September… watch this space for details soon… Or email your interest to enquiries@resource-me.com for further information now, on what is going to be a sought after opportunity…
