Dis-entangling the family

Posted on November 21st, 2015

One of the techniques that I have found profoundly helpful in my own life has been Family Constellations.  Created by Bert Hellinger, this work helps shift patterns that repeat within families, often when the cause has long lapsed from conscious knowledge.  His work was influenced by time working in Africa, where he learned that when someone needed healing, the whole family, the ancestors, and sometimes the community, would all be seen as a part of the picture.  He combined this understanding with the new understandings of psychology, Gestalt techniques, and what he came to refer to as ‘the field’.  Hellinger says:

“When the family is brought into order, an individual from the family can leave the nest. He feels the power of the family behind him. Only when the connection to the family is recognized and responsibilities have been made clear and divided up, does the individual feel free of burden. He can go his own way, without the past burdening him and tying him down.”

I am excited to say that my friend and former colour light teacher, Charaka Danaher, who offers family constellation workshops, will be running one in The Old Pavilion, Honiton, Devon this coming Saturday 28th November, 10.30am – 6pm.

Charaka says :

“ This workshop allows you to look at a situation in your life that is troubling and holding you back by focusing on your family system or other systems (e.g. work, relationships) and bringing resolutions and clarity to seemingly unchangeable situations.”

Charaka had the honour of training with Bert Hellinger and finds that the process can be deeply moving and often shows surprising solutions. She is an experienced therapist and healer over 30 years, and offers individual sessions of Colour Puncture, and other therapies as well as Family Constellation days. I know her work to be sensitive, caring, and profound, so if you would like to have a constellation done for you, this is your opportunity!

The cost is £90.  Or if you would like to come along and assist as a volunteer and to gain a greater understanding of the work, then you are simply asked to make a contribution to the day.  To book a place in either capacity, or to discuss it further, please call Charaka on 07906 883958   or email her on premcharaka@hotmail.com

Hope to see you there!
